As we reach the conclusion of the 2020-2021 academic school year, we want to thank our families for all they have done to support students during this challenging school year. To support the varying needs of families in the midst of the global pandemic, the Ohio legislature provided schools with the necessary flexibility to implement remote instruction and learning. The Ohio Department of Education notified districts in April that the Ohio legislature has not extended the Remote Learning flexibilities granted for the 2020-2021 school year.
This information from the Ohio Department of Education, in addition to the district-level considerations for social/emotional needs of students, academic rigor to support student achievement, and student engagement, affirms the need for all students to return to in-person instruction for the 2021-2022 school year. Therefore, Beavercreek City Schools will not have a remote learning option during the 2021-22 school year.
We look forward to having all students back in the buildings to start the 2021-2022 school year. Our building principals will send information to our virtual families regarding activities/events to facilitate the transition back to the school building. We want to make this transition as smooth as possible for students and families.
