Kindergarten Readiness

Kindergarten & New to the District First Grade Registration for the 2021-2022 School Year

Due to the pandemic and social distancing requirements, BCS will be holding kindergarten and new to the district first-grade registration the first three Thursdays in March by appointment only. Families must complete online enrollment forms (under Student Registration) and sign up for an appointment via Sign-Up Genius. The dates for kindergarten registration are as follows:

 

March 4th – 7:30 am – 4:30 pm 

March 11th – 7:30 am – 4:30 pm 

March 18 – 7:30 am – 4:30 pm

 

Please select OneView from the list on the right to begin the online enrollment process. This webpage will direct you to the OneView link where you will create your parent account or sign in to your existing account.  Once you are logged in, select the “New Student Registration” option.  

 

Once you have completed your registration forms, please schedule your appointment to complete the enrollment process by bringing in the required documentation listed below (no children please). You must complete your new student enrollment information online prior to your appointment. School closings and 2-hour delays will impact these times. (Student does not need to attend)

Kindergarten Eligibility and Assessment

A child is eligible for entrance into kindergarten if s/he attains the age of five (5) on or before August 1st of the year in which he/she applies for entrance.  The Board may admit a younger child to kindergarten if the child satisfies the Board's early entrance criteria.  Kindergarten students will then complete a Kindergarten Assessment, which will be scheduled after the child has been registered.

 

Early Entrance to Kindergarten

For early entrance to kindergarten, a child must turn 5 on or before August 1st of the year in which he/she would like to be admitted to kindergarten. A younger child may be admitted to kindergarten if he/she satisfies the Board of Education's early entrance criteria. First Grade Eligibility
A child is eligible for entrance into first grade if s/he attains the age of six (6) on or before August 1st of the year in which s/he applies for entrance and has successfully completed the kindergarten program of this District or an accredited program elsewhere and has been recommended by the teacher for advancement to the first grade.  The Board may admit to first grade a younger child who has successfully completed kindergarten if the
