Meal Procedures - Blended Learning

Dear Beavercreek Families,

As we make this transition to a blended learning model, we want to inform you about meal availability. We will continue to offer breakfast* and lunch free of charge to both our in-person, remote learning and online students.

At the beginning of the school year, a meal ordering and pick-up system was implemented for online learners. We will use this same system for those students during their remote learning days while in the blended learning model.


Ordering

Visit https://beavercreek.nutrislice.com/ and select the school in which your child is enrolled to view the meal options for the day. Details are listed below, as to the specifics on what constitutes a school lunch.

Lunch at No Cost Includes:

Grades K-8: Entrée, grain**, choice of 2 vegetables, 1 fruit & a milk

Grades 9-12: Entrée, grain**, choice of 2 vegetables, 2 fruits & a milk

 

Students must select a minimum of 1 fruit or vegetable + 2 other items to be considered a lunch meal. Students are encouraged to take all 5 components (entrée, grain, fruit, vegetable & milk).

If you have students in multiple buildings you ARE able to order and pick-up from the building of your choice. When placing orders for students enrolled in different buildings, but picking up from one location you will need to order from the menu of the building you intend to pick-up from.

Your meal will be made fresh to order.

Meal Pick-Up

All meals placed for online or remote learners will need to be picked up for the day that it was ordered. Each building's meal pick-up procedures will be communicated in a separate notification.

Free & Reduced Meal Applications

Families are still encouraged to submit free/reduced meal applications to ensure they do not lose their free/reduced status at the conclusion of this statewide policy. The USDA policy has been extended to provide free meals for the remainder of the school year and due to expire on June 30, 2021. Families that qualify for free and reduced meals by submitting an application may have their school fees waived or reduced.

Families can fill out an application online at https://www.lunchapplication.com/ or download a copy from the Beavercreek City Schools website under the Forms section. Paper copies are also available at each building's main office or the Student Nutrition Office.
