New Calendars Approved for 2019 - 2020 & 2020 - 2021

Dear Parents/Guardians,

Anticipation for the 2019-2020 school year is growing across our district. In less than a month, our schools will come alive with students and they will be welcomed back into buildings that are being meticulously prepared for the start of classes.

As we prepare for the upcoming school year, it is important to inform our families of a few minor changes to the upcoming school year calendar. New for this coming school year, parent-teacher conferences will be held for all grade levels, PK-12. These conferences will be offered twice a year (1st and 2nd semester) at varying times to meet the needs of our busy families. Details about these conferences will be developed and communicated from the administration at your child's school.

In addition, the district has received a great deal of parent feedback regarding scheduled breaks throughout the school year. In an effort to assist families with planning for these and future breaks; for this school year, our fall, winter, and spring breaks will be as follows:

Fall Break (Thanksgiving) - No School November 25 - 29 *This is a CHANGE*
Winter Break - No School December 23 - January 3
Spring Break - No School March 23 - 27

Beginning with the 2019-2020 school year, it is the intention of the district to always maintain a full week break at Thanksgiving (Fall Break) to allow our families greater flexibility in traveling to visit family and friends. We are hopeful that this change will serve our families well for this year and into the future.

Please know that these changes have not eliminated instructional days for our students, rather it has simply expanded our calendar to allow for greater flexibility for our families. Students will continue to attend the same number of school days as they have in the past. A copy of the new 2019-2020 calendar and the 2020-2021 calendar can be accessed under the "Parents" tab or by clicking on the documents below.

Thank you for your support and for allowing us the opportunity to work with your children. August 14 is just around the corner and we are looking forward to welcoming your child(ren) back for another exciting and successful school year. If you have questions or concerns at any time, please do not hesitate to reach out to me directly. Please enjoy the rest of your summer with your friends and family.

Sincerely,

Superintendent
