News and Events
On Thursday, October 29, the Beavercreek Board of Education approved a modification to our district’s restart plan in regards to the COVID-19 pandemic. Moving forward, Beavercreek City Schools will use local, building, and district data to drive decisions in order to determine the district delivery model for each school. The Ohio Public Health Advisory System will be used as a data source but will NOT determine the instructional delivery model for our schools.
Accordingly, Preschool will resume traditional in-person instruction, 4 days a week, effective Monday, November 2, 2020.
Since the beginning of the 20-21 school year, there have been 20 students who have tested positive for COVID-19 in the district. 8 positive staff cases have been reported. Through contact tracing, it has been determined that the majority of positive cases were a result of activities outside of our school buildings. Examining the spread of COVID-19 in Beavercreek City Schools in consultation with Greene County Public Health will be our driving force for decision making.
We thank you for your continued adherence to the safety protocols our school district has put in place. Because of your cooperation and support, our schools continue to be one of the safest, most well-controlled environments for our children.
Preschool Hybrid Learning Information 10/15/2020
Dear Preschool Families,
Governor DeWine announced today that Greene County is now at a Risk Level 3/Red, based on the Ohio Public Health Advisory System. As stated in our school restart plan, Beavercreek City Schools will be transitioning to a blended learning model. This transition will begin on Monday, October 19, we anticipate that we will remain in this model for at least two weeks.
Preschool students will follow their same staggered start schedule from the first three weeks of school. We have several new students, so teachers will be communicating with families tomorrow which days (either M/W or T/Th) their child will be attending for the next few weeks.
District transportation services will continue as scheduled - there will be no change. Bus drivers will be running the full route each day.
Expectations During Remote Learning Days of the Blended Model
Instruction will be provided in the same manner as it was during staggered start. Teachers will send home videos and activities for students to complete throughout the week. They will then follow up with a Google Form for parents to report attendance.
Principals are working with building staff to implement blended learning plans. Principals will be communicating with parents any additional information needed for the transition to blended learning.
Thank you for your support and flexibility as we adapt our school environment based county specific COVID updates.
