Child Abuse and Neglect
Beavercreek City Schools is committed to protecting the safety, well-being, and welfare of every student. District employees are required by Ohio law and Board of Education policy to report suspected child abuse or neglect to the appropriate authorities. Working together, schools, families, and community agencies help ensure that children receive the support and protection they need.
Types of Child Abuse & Neglect

Non-accidental physical injury or harm to a child.

Failure to provide adequate care, supervision, food, shelter, medical attention, or education.

Any sexual activity or exploitation involving a child.

Patterns of behavior that negatively affect a child's emotional development, sense of self-worth, or well-being.
Reporting Requirements
In compliance with Board of Education policy and Ohio law, District employees are mandated reporters and must report suspected child abuse or neglect to the appropriate legal authorities. These requirements apply to students under age 18 and certain students under age 21 with qualifying disabilities.
