Social Emotional Learning
Social Emotional Learning (SEL)
At Beavercreek City Schools, we believe that student success extends beyond academics. Social Emotional Learning (SEL) helps students develop the skills needed to understand and manage emotions, build positive relationships, make responsible decisions, and navigate life's challenges with confidence and resilience.
By intentionally teaching and supporting these skills, we help students thrive both in the classroom and beyond.
-
Social and Emotional Learning (SEL) is the process through which children and adults develop the knowledge, skills, and attitudes needed to:
- Understand and manage emotions
- Build healthy relationships
- Show empathy and respect for others
- Set and achieve goals
- Make responsible decisions
- Contribute positively to their communities
-
Ohio adopted K-12 Social Emotional Learning Standards to support student development across five core competencies.

-
Beavercreek City Schools has developed a comprehensive approach to Social Emotional Learning that aligns with Ohio's SEL Standards and supports students at every grade level.
Programs and resources used throughout the district may include:
