🧪🚌 Fairbrook 5th graders wrapped up a fantastic year of science with a trip to COSI! Last evening it was Mrs. Mangan's pleasure and honor to award four scholarships to former Fairbrook students. These kids have always been outstanding leaders and kids with character. Our $500 staff scholarships went to Arabella Renner and Mary Franz!!! The $500 PTO scholarships went to Drake Walling and Cohen Nelson. Mrs. Mangan said, "These kids were so grateful for these awards. Thank you so much for giving me the honor of presenting these to our students for all these years."

🚂✨ Fairbrook’s fourth graders took a trip back in time last Thursday at Carillon Historical Park! From learning about life in the early 1900s to exploring Dayton’s rich history and discovering the roots of entrepreneurship, our students had an unforgettable hands- on experience. 🎻🎶 The Orchestra and You program struck a chord with Fairbrook's second graders this week! Students had a blast learning about different instruments and how an orchestra works. The best part? 🔬 Student Spotlight: Luke’s Out-of-This-World Discovery! 🌠 During a 5th-grade science discussion in Mr. Streiff’s class, Fairbrook student Luke shared an incredible story—he owns a real meteorite! While in Alaska, Luke noticed steaming snow in the yard. When he investigated, he discovered a meteorite at the center of the melted snow! Luke brought it to class where students were amazed to see the effects of intense atmospheric pressure on the space rock. 🚀☄️ Fairbrook 5th Graders Explore Meteorite Impact with Officer Peffly! ☄️🚀 Last Friday, Officer Peffly joined Fairbrook’s 5th graders for an “impactful” STEM lab! Students experimented with falling meteorites, learning how speed and height affect crater size. They took charge of the scientific process by dropping metal marbles into corn starch and flour—making discoveries, exploring STEM, and getting a little messy along the way! 🧑‍🔬✨ Hands-on learning at its best! 👏 #OneDistrictOneMissionOneCreek #STEMinAction
