Our Parkwood 5th graders have been diving into science with plenty of hands-on experiences so far this year! 🌱💡 From exciting experiments to interactive lessons, they’re exploring the world around them in creative and engaging ways. We can’t wait to see their curiosity continue to grow! 🌟
Students in Miss Gore's class at Shaw have been learning what it means to be a scientist and each step of the scientific method. This past week, they experimented to answer the question: "What will happen to a gummy bear placed in different liquids?"
Our scientists hypothesized, observed, and recorded their findings—and were amazed to discover that the gummy bears expanded rather than dissolved! Then, they explored the science behind it, discussing how the gelatin in the gummy bears caused osmosis. They had so much fun experimenting and learning! 🍬🔍

This week, Ruby helped deliver over 325 books to our students and will be back tomorrow to deliver even more! The students were fantastic—great listeners, respectful, and using their manners. We love seeing our students excited about reading!
