Prevention & Intervention Services

Beavercreek City Schools is committed to providing a safe, supportive, and inclusive learning environment where all students can thrive. Through prevention, education, intervention, and community partnerships, we work to promote student well-being, strengthen protective factors, and provide support for students and families when challenges arise.

Our Prevention and Intervention Services focus on substance use prevention, bullying and violence prevention, social-emotional learning, mental health awareness, and student safety.

Our Areas of Focus

  • Beavercreek City Schools utilizes evidence-based prevention programs that promote healthy decision-making and a drug-free lifestyle.

    Programs include:

    • PAX Good Behavior Game
    • D.A.R.E.
    • BHS Network Club
    • Health Curriculum

    Students who violate district substance use policies may also participate in intervention and educational services designed to prevent future use.

  • We are committed to fostering safe and respectful school communities.

    Programs and initiatives include:

    • Anti-Bullying Education
    • Violence Prevention
    • Dating Violence Prevention
    • Safe Dates Curriculum
  • Social Emotional Learning helps students build skills related to:

    • Self-awareness
    • Self-management
    • Relationship skills
    • Social awareness
    • Responsible decision-making

    Students in grades K-8 participate in Second Step and other SEL initiatives aligned with Ohio's SEL Standards.

  • Student mental health is a priority at Beavercreek City Schools.

    Our efforts include:

    • Suicide Prevention Education
    • QPR (Question, Persuade, Refer) Training
    • Mental Health Awareness
    • Hope Squad
    • Peer Listening Programs

    These initiatives help students and staff recognize warning signs, seek support, and connect with resources.

Safer Ohio School Tip Line

Anonymous Reporting Available 24/7

The Safer Ohio School Tip Line allows students, families, staff, and community members to anonymously report concerns related to student safety.

Concerns may include:

  • Bullying
  • Threats of violence
  • Suspicious behavior
  • Weapons or dangerous items
  • Self-harm concerns
  • Suicidal thoughts
  • School safety concerns

All tips are reviewed by trained analysts through Ohio Homeland Security and forwarded to local officials when action is needed.
