Fairbrook November Shine Award Winner Brayden W. in Mrs. Carenza's first grade classroom at Fairbrook is a true example of what it means to be a Fairbrook Fox. He consistently offers to help the teacher and other students in the classroom. He is always the first to be focused on the teacher and ready to learn every morning. Brayden often sweeps up other students' snack messes even without being asked. He is the student that I trust to bring notes and items to other teachers. His perseverance is to be admired as he challenges himself every day to be the best mathematician and reader he can be. There is no "I can't do this" in his vocabulary. Brayden is kind, respectful, and an excellent role model for his peers.

Fairbrook fifth graders attended Blue Crew training this week. The Blue Crew is a volunteer opportunity given only to 5th graders, which allows students to be in charge of different jobs at Fairbrook, like recycling collection, bus line leaders, and announcements. This group helps make Fairbrook a great place to learn and be a part of each year! #BcrkSchools #FairbrookBlueCrew

Character Education
Today was a great day for learning as we had various staff professional development going on. Our BHS teachers learned about ways to use data to inform instructional strategies. Our middle school teachers spent time collaborating to learn more about the characteristics and needs of our students and how we can better support them, and some of our elementary staff spent time learning more about emotional intelligence.

E Day was another amazing success! During an economics unit, 4th graders create and sell products to the entire school. Then they figure out their profit from the day. It is a favorite annual event for students and staff.

Mrs. Jester came to Mrs. Carenza’s first grade class on Monday to share her Native American culture with them. She showed them clothing and artifacts from her family. She and her daughter, Tempe, performed a dance for the class. The students really enjoyed seeing how Mrs. Jester’s ancestors used animal bones and teeth to decorate their clothing.
