Student Services

The Student Services Department is devoted to all students’ health, development, and achievement in the Beavercreek City Schools District. Every day, our dedicated staff partners with teachers, staff, parents, and students to provide comprehensive services and programs that enable our students to excel in the classroom and beyond.

Beavercreek City Schools has partnered with Right At School to offer before- and after-school programs at all six elementary buildings. This fee-based program provides hands-on learning, daily fitness, team building, and leadership activities, with flexible options and a sliding fee scale. Beavercreek Schools provide a well-rounded education that includes strong academics and a focus on core ethical values. Since 2005, our Character Education Program has centered on key “pillars of character,” reinforced through curriculum, activities, and service learning. This program is taught in all buildings to help students apply these values in meaningful ways.

If a student has a language other than English spoken in the home (indicated on the Home Language Survey completed during enrollment process), the student will be assessed for English Language Proficiency. If the student qualifies, English Language services are provided.

Provides services and support for students who are identified as homeless as defined by the McKinney - Vento Act and the National Center for Homeless Education. Support services would include providing transportation, access to food and clothing, and removing barriers to help with receiving a public education.

The district has Military and Family Life Counselors (MFLCs) serving our schools. MFLCs are available to
provide individual and family support, deployment support, transition support, coaching and support for staff, and presentations/group facilitation on relevant topics.

PBIS is a multi-tiered approach to social, emotional, and behavioral support. PBIS focuses on creating a safe, positive, and predictable school environment for all students and staff by teaching students appropriate behavior expectations.

School Counselors in each building provide academic, career, and social/emotional counseling to students. Counselors meet with students to address barriers to learning and also make referrals to outside agencies.

We believe that providing safe and high-quality health care in the educational setting results in better learning for our students. All of our schools are staffed by certified school nurses and classified nurses who provide a variety of services that range from screenings to First Aid.

The district offers support for students who violate the school’s substance abuse policy. It consists of five sessions with our Prevention and Intervention Coordinator that provide education on topics such as a student’s history of use, enabling, triggers to use, peer pressure, consequences and progression of use, coping strategies, and refusal skills.

Our Attendance Officer monitors student attendance in grades K-12 and provides assistance to parents and students with attendance related concerns. The Attendance Officer ensures the district is in compliance with HB 410.
