Students in Mrs. Bisignani's Medical Detectives classes at Coy and Ankeney Middle Schools recently put on their lab coats and dove into some serious science!
As part of their study on brain regions, these young investigators explored real sheep brains, identifying key structures like the corpus callosum, olfactory tracts, and occipital lobes.
They're not just learning—they're thinking critically and making powerful connections… one neuron at a time! 🧪✨

Ankeney’s Student Advisory Council organized a heartwarming fundraiser to support our local 4 Paws for Ability center! 🎉 Last week, the top three Flex classes that raised the most money and student council members celebrated outside with a special treat—time with the incredible 4 Paws trainers and their amazing dogs! 🐶

🏆 BHS Staff & Alum Spotlight: Coach Jeremy Clingner! 🏆
Coach Jeremy Clingner — a 2003 BHS graduate, current Intervention Specialist, and coach — just fulfilled a major personal goal: to wrestle in the US Open when he turned 40! 🤼♂️
Coach Clingner competed in the 35-43 age division at the US Open in Las Vegas, participating in Olympic-style events (freestyle and Greco-Roman wrestling).
He went 0-2 in freestyle but earned an impressive 3rd place finish in Greco-Roman, where only upper-body techniques are allowed! 💪
At BHS, Jeremy was a state runner-up in wrestling and a standout football player, later becoming a two-sport college athlete at Wilmington College.
We’re proud to have him at BHS, where he inspires and leads our students every day! 🧡🖤

Our BHS International Club recently teamed up with Chef David and our amazing Nutrition Team to create a brand-new Mediterranean Bar—now available every Monday!
From gyro meat and chicken shawarma to roasted chickpeas and Greek Feta Fries (a new favorite!), students helped select the flavors, toppings, and menu items that reflect a wider range of cultures and preferences.
This delicious new option is a direct result of student input, thoughtful collaboration, and a shared goal of better serving our diverse school community. 💬🍽️🧡
