🌟 CONGRATULATIONS to Faith Prausa, a ninth-grade student at Ferguson Hall, for receiving October’s Shine Award! Faith was nominated by Mr. Southard and he shared why he nominated her! “From the first moment Faith arrived at Ferguson Hall, she has been helping others and making their day better. She is selfless and caring to her friends and peers. Even when unable to perform on the cross country team, Faith still shows up, encourages, and cheers on her teammates. The way her smile and attitude light up the room on a daily basis helps us all 'shine' a little more.” Way to go, Faith! We are proud of you! 👏👏 #BcreekSchools

This week’s, “Beavercreek’s Best” features third-grade teacher at Shaw Elementary, Allison McCormick. Continue reading to learn more about her! 🏫 NUMBER OF YEARS AT BEAVERCREEK CITY SCHOOLS: Eight years 🍦 WHAT WAS YOUR FIRST JOB: Making frames and working at Dairy Queen. 📚 WHO IS YOUR FAVORITE AUTHOR OR BOOK: My favorite book is “The BFG” by Roald Dahl. I also like to read Jodi Picoult books! 🎿 WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE SCHOOL MEMORY FROM WHEN YOU WERE YOUNGER: My favorite school memory was winning the Invention Convention in sixth grade! My dad created a 'snow blocker' to block snow from getting on our wrists when we went skiing. It later became a REAL product, but not by my family! 🤗 FONDEST MEMORY IN YOUR CURRENT POSITION: I love when I see students helping each other and learning to have positive talk! We work hard on being great PAX leaders, so watching them take ownership of their behaviors and be more positive is amazing. 🧡 WHAT PIECE OF ADVICE OR ENCOURAGEMENT WOULD YOU SHARE WITH ALL STUDENTS IN OUR DISTRICT: Always be positive! Allison, thank you for all you do! Our district is lucky to have you! #BcreekSchools

Today’s #TBT takes us back to the LaxFest at Beavercreek High School (BHS) last month. Lady lacrosse players from schools around Dayton, Cincinnati and Columbus came together to play mini games. This annual event promotes the sport, allows the opportunity for a little practice and raises money for Sub for Santa. Later this year, the BHS lax team will purchase Christmas gifts and dinner for a Beavercreek family in need. What an awesome way to support our athletes and our community! #BcreekSchools
