🌟 Student Spotlight: Miranda Grogean 🌟
Congratulations to Senior Miranda Grogean on earning the Girl Scout Gold Award—the highest honor in Girl Scouts! 🎉🏅
Miranda combined art and recycling for her project to raise awareness about environmental sustainability. She and her team built an ocean-themed float for the 4th of July parade using recycled materials to highlight ocean pollution. She also hosted a three-day camp for kids (grades 3-6), teaching them about recycling through fun, hands-on activities.
Through her work, Miranda has inspired others to think about how they can help the planet. 🌎♻️ Way to go, Miranda!

💼 BHS Business Pathway Students Attend BPA State Leadership Conference! 💼
Earlier this month, BHS Business Pathway students represented Beavercreek at the BPA State Leadership Conference in Columbus. They had the opportunity to compete in contests, serve as voting delegates, and network with students from across Ohio.
While no students advanced to Nationals this year, the experience was invaluable, and they are eager to return next year with a better understanding of what to expect.
A special thank you goes to Mrs. Brandi Ingram, who served as a parent chaperone and provided support throughout the event. Her help made this opportunity possible!

🌟 Treasurer/CFO Joy Kitzmiller and HR Director Deron Schieterman in Washington D.C.! 🌟
Earlier this month, our very own Joy Kitzmiller and Deron Schieterman attended the 2025 NAFIS Spring Conference in Washington, D.C., where they advocated for the continued funding of Impact Aid with Ohio Senators and House of Representative members.
The National Association of Federally Impacted Schools (NAFIS) represents approximately 1,100 federally impacted public school districts, educating over eight million students nationwide.
Federally impacted districts are those located near nontaxable Federal properties like military bases, national parks, and more. They receive Impact Aid to support their unique needs. It’s inspiring to see our district represented at such a crucial conference!

During a 5th-grade science discussion in Mr. Streiff’s class, Fairbrook student Luke shared an incredible story—he owns a real meteorite!
While in Alaska, Luke noticed steaming snow in the yard. When he investigated, he discovered a meteorite at the center of the melted snow!
Luke brought it to class where students were amazed to see the effects of intense atmospheric pressure on the space rock.
Thank you, Luke, for sharing your incredible discovery and bringing science to life! 🧡🖤 #BCSStudentSpotlight #FutureScientist #FairbrookPride

Last Friday, Officer Peffly joined Fairbrook’s 5th graders for an “impactful” STEM lab!
Students experimented with falling meteorites, learning how speed and height affect crater size. They took charge of the scientific process by dropping metal marbles into corn starch and flour—making discoveries, exploring STEM, and getting a little messy along the way! 🧑🔬✨
Hands-on learning at its best! 👏 #OneDistrictOneMissionOneCreek #STEMinAction

📚🦁 Valley Elementary’s 3rd Grade Animal Open House! 🐢🌿
Third-grade students at Valley Elementary recently completed their 3rd quarter project, diving into the world of zoology! 🧐🐾 Each student researched an animal of their choice, exploring its habitat, physical features, adaptations, diet, and more.
As a creative extension, they built dioramas at home to answer the big question:
🦜 "As a zoologist, how can you provide the best habitat for your animal?"
Families had the opportunity to attend the 3rd Grade Animal Open House and see the students' incredible work firsthand. 👏🐘 Thank you to our students, families, and teachers for making this such a fantastic learning experience!
