Beavercreek Preschool recently hosted its second Lunch-and-Learn of the school year in collaboration with the Greene County Early Childhood Mental Health team! Local daycare providers joined in for a professional development session focused on “Embracing a Sensory-Informed Perspective” when working with young children.

Señorita Potter's Spanish class at Ferguson Hall recently brought language learning to life with their very own mini-market! 🎉 Students designed "puestos" (market stands), sold products, and practiced bargaining—just like in the markets of Spain, Mexico, and Costa Rica! 🌎

Mrs. Cox's 5th grade class at Main Elementary has been learning all about planets and the solar system. When she heard about a Kindergarten student with a passion for space, she knew he had to share his knowledge! 🌟
With help from Mr. Hutzelman, Thomas created an incredible presentation—sharing all the facts from memory! 🤯👏
When asked about his favorite planet, Thomas proudly said, "Earth, because we live here!" 🌎🧡

As part of their thematic unit on travel, 5th-grade students in Mrs. Justice's GRR class at Shaw Elementary planned an exciting road trip to different national parks! 🏕️🚗 While researching, they took their learning a step further by writing to national park rangers—and they even received mail back! 📬

On January 31, Parkwood held its annual Spelling Bee, featuring 18 incredible spellers from our 4th and 5th grade classes. After 23 intense rounds, we crowned our champion:
🏆 Winner: Saketh Sajay (5th Grade)
🥈 Runner-Up: Addie Adducchio (5th Grade)
Saketh will go on to represent Parkwood at the Regional Spelling Bee at Wright State University on March 7, 2025—good luck! 🍀👏
Before the competition, we also recognized the top classroom spellers from our K-3 classes—congrats to all of our amazing spellers! 🏅✨

Mrs. Bisignani's Medical Detectives classes had an exciting visit from phlebotomist Ms. Moriah Kendall-Joy, who shared her expertise on the circulatory system. Students mapped veins and arteries using Sour Punch Straws and even practiced a blood draw on a dummy arm! 🏥💉

Yesterday, the BHS Dance Team competed at the Dance STATE Championships in Heath, OH, and achieved incredible results! 🧡🖤
