🦃🍂 Thanksgiving Fun at Fairbrook! 🍂🦃 Our Fairbrook students have been busy preparing for Thanksgiving in some creative and educational ways! 🛒 Fourth graders in Ms. Bruhn's class did some Thanksgiving dinner shopping by exploring Kroger ads, practicing addition, subtraction, rounding, and ordering decimals! 🍽️ Kindergarteners celebrated their annual Thanksgiving Feast by creating tablecloths and sharing a meal together with their classmates. 🦃 Both kindergarten and fourth grade students got into the holiday spirit by helping turkeys survive Thanksgiving! Kindergarteners made turkey disguises, while fourth graders applied their knowledge of animal adaptations to create camouflage for their turkeys. What a fun week of learning and celebration! 🧡🖤

🧪📏 Measuring Up in Ms. Busch's Class! 📏🧪 Ms. Busch’s 3rd graders at Trebein Elementary got hands-on in a fun science and math lab! 🌟 They explored how to: 🟠Measure liquid volume using a graduated cylinder 🟠Calculate the volume of a solid using centimeter cubes and the formula Length x Width x Height The students were amazing, taking the activity seriously and showing off their skills! 🙌 Their curiosity and enthusiasm were inspiring to see. Way to go, future scientists and mathematicians! 🧡

Our GCCC/BHS CBI students had an incredible learning experience on Friday, November 15th, during a hands-on manufacturing activity conducted by the Dayton Region Manufacturers Association (DRMA)! 🛠️✨ With the support of Mr. Bud Martin from AFC Tool Company, Inc., students explored various careers in the manufacturing industry. They also created simulated businesses and produced products using a laser engraving machine. 🖋️⚙️ This engaging activity offered a valuable glimpse into the world of manufacturing and the exciting career opportunities it offers. Colonel John Smith, Coy's science teacher, at the 445th Airlift Wing's Employer Appreciation Day. This full-day event showcased our brave servicemembers in action, featuring M-4 demonstrations, security forces operations, and even a C-17 flight experience! ✈️ Lt. Colonel Smith, who has dedicated an impressive 37 years to the Air Force, continues to serve both our country and our students. We are incredibly proud of our very own Ms. Creech! 🎶 On Veterans Day, she was honored to participate in the Dayton Memorial Park Cemetery/Community Veterans' Day Ceremony. Alongside her sister, Ms. Creech performed The National Anthem and America the Beautiful, paying tribute to veterans and their family's legacy. This event held special meaning, as their parents are laid to rest there, and their dad was an Army veteran. It also marked the anniversary of their mom's passing. 💙 Thank you, Ms. Creech, for sharing your beautiful voice and heartfelt connection to such a meaningful day. #VeteransDay

In honor of National Veterans and Military Family Appreciation Month, did you know that the Purple Star School designation began in 2017 in Ohio and that Trebein Elementary was part of the inaugural class to receive this prestigious designation? 💜✨ The Purple Star Award is given to "Military-Friendly Schools" that demonstrate support for our military-connected families. Today, 45 out of 50 states have followed Ohio's lead in recognizing Purple Star Schools. We are proud to share that all 11 Beavercreek City School buildings have earned the Purple Star designation. Last month was bittersweet as our Board of Education held its final meeting at 3040 Kemp Rd., marking the end of an era. 🧡 In case you missed it, the BOE is relocating to convert the central office space into additional preschool classrooms. This month’s meeting will be held at Main Elementary on November 21, with plans to host the December meeting at the new Apple Valley location. 📐✨ In October, Mrs. Harney's 4th-grade scholarship math class at Trebein Elementary took on an exciting project-based learning unit to sharpen their math skills! These students pushed their math abilities to the next level through teamwork, decision-making, mapping, calculating area and perimeter, budgeting, and solving decimal word problems. Each student created an advertisement or a 3-D model for their final project. They engaged in feedback sessions to enhance their designs and wrapped up with a gallery walk featuring positive Post-it notes. The top six projects earned a spot in the hallway for all to admire. 💡🎉 🧡🖤 #TrebeinElementary
