Main Elementary is bustling with activities for the season. The school held its school shop, which allowed students to take time to shop for gifts to give to their family and friends. We had"special wrappers" who took the time to volunteer and help make all the gifts purchased even more special for our students, and Santa even made an appearance! There was also a tree lighting for the first time at Main! Beavercreek High School student council spearheaded the night, which included hot chocolate and a holiday performance. #TheBestTimeOfTheYear ⛄️🎄🎅

Mr. Shaw, 3rd grade teacher at Shaw Elementary, figured out one way to get his students excited about reading! On Fridays, each student gets a flashlight and carpet square to go anywhere in the room for reading time. Mr. Shaw then turns off the lights, and students read using flashlights. The students absolutely love this activity! #FlashlightFridays

Fairbrook fifth graders attended Blue Crew training this week. The Blue Crew is a volunteer opportunity given only to 5th graders, which allows students to be in charge of different jobs at Fairbrook, like recycling collection, bus line leaders, and announcements. This group helps make Fairbrook a great place to learn and be a part of each year! #BcrkSchools #FairbrookBlueCrew

This week, for our staff spotlight, we are highlighting TY English! Ty is an Intervention Specialist and AEP Teacher at Ankeney Middle School. 🧡🖤 Ty has been with BCS for 2 years. He says the most influential person in his career is Dr. Candy McCoy, his mentor during his student teaching at Fairmont High School. She greatly supported him, and he is very grateful for her guidance. As an educator, Ty hopes his students can learn perseverance from him. "No matter what life brings, you can continue to push forward and achieve your goals." Finally, he wishes more people knew that our district strongly focuses on providing a well-rounded education for all students while providing alternative opportunities to explore their interests and talents. #BcreekSchools #BeavercreeksBest
